A Head of Programs oversees program strategy and execution by leading teams, managing budgets, allocating resources, and ensuring programs align with organizational goals.
Program Management Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of inclusive education, digital literacy, and employability programs across East Africa and Malawi. Oversee the delivery of assistive technology projects, including the distribution, training, and maintenance of devices such as Orbit Readers. Develop and manage annual work plans, budgets, and program schedules to ensure timelyand efficient delivery. Conduct regular field visits to assess program progress, provide technical support, and address challenges. Strategic Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Build and maintain relationships with government bodies, donors, civil society organizations, and educational institutions. Lead proposal development and grant applications to secure funding for program expansion. Represent KBTA at national and international forums, advocating for the inclusion of persons with disabilities. Donor & Partner Engagement Work closely with the Executive Director and fundraising team to cultivate, secure, and manage donor relationships. Contribute to grant proposals, budgets, and donor presentations with strong programmatic insights. Strengthen partnerships with government ministries, universities, tech companies, and OPDs (Organizations of Persons with Disabilities) and Employers. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Develop and implement MEL frameworks to assess program impact and inform decision- making. Compile quarterly and annual program reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations. Responsible for all donor reporting Utilize data to refine program strategies and share success stories with stakeholders. Team Leadership and Capacity Building Supervise program staff and provide mentorship to foster professional growth and performance excellence. Organize training for teachers, program staff, and partners on inclusive education and assistive technologies. Coordinate the onboarding of new team members, ensuring seamless integration into KBTA's culture and processes.

Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in International Development, Education, Social Sciences, or related field. Atleast 10 years of program leadership experience, with significant exposure to education, ed-tech, disability inclusion, digital skills, or livelihoods. Strong track record in managing multi-country or multi-partner programs. Strong understanding of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) systems and frameworks. Demonstrated ability to engage with donors, governments, and high-level stakeholders. Proven experience in staff management, coaching, and team building. Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
