Summary of Role Purpose & Responsibilities
The Head of Platforms & Technology will lead the engineering and delivery of enterprise-grade applications and platforms across Equity Group Holdings. This includes ERP, CRM, Asset Management, Learning Management Systems, Pricing & Billing Systems, Enterprise Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS), PKI, and eSignature platforms.
The role supports the Group’s Africa Recovery and Resilience Plan (ARRP) by enabling scalable, secure, and integrated digital capabilities across the East Africa region.
The role will drive Agile delivery in collaboration with Product Managers, Project Managers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
Key Deliverables
- Lead the design, development, and lifecycle management of enterprise platforms including ERP (e.g., Oracle), CRM (e.g., Oracle Fusion, MS Dynamics), Cornerstone LMS, Asset Management, Pricing & Billing, and EDRMS.
- Oversee the implementation and integration of DPI-aligned technologies such as digital identity, consent frameworks, and verifiable credentials.
- Manage PKI infrastructure and eSignature platforms to support secure digital transactions and regulatory compliance.
- Drive the modernization of pricing and billing systems to support dynamic pricing models, real-time billing, and customer self-service.
- Lead the implementation of EDRMS platforms to support secure, compliant, and searchable document and records lifecycle management across the enterprise.
- Ensure EDRMS solutions meet regulatory, legal, and audit requirements for document retention, classification, and disposal.
- Collaborate with Product and Project Managers to deliver platform capabilities using Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe).
- Define and enforce architectural standards, integration patterns, and platform governance.
- Lead vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management for platform-related services.
- Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team across multiple geographies.
Qualifications
Must-Have: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Nice to Have:
- Certifications in ERP/CRM/Billing/EDRMS platforms (e.g., Oracle ERP, Oracle Fusion, Oracle BRM)
- Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe Agilist, Scrum Master)
- TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification
- Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Architect)
Experience
- 10+ years in enterprise application engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Experience in banking, financial services, or regulated enterprise environments.
- Proven track record of delivering enterprise platform transformations.
- Experience managing cross-functional Agile teams across geographies
- Lead the design, development, and lifecycle management of enterprise platforms including ERP (e.g., Oracle), CRM (e.g., Oracle Fusion, MS Dynamics), Cornerstone LMS, Asset Management, Pricing & Billing, and EDRMS.
