Missions of Hope International (MOHI) is a Christ-centered, non-governmental organization that serves orphaned and vulnerable children, their families and others in the Mathare Valley slums of Nairobi and other disadvantaged communities throughout Kenya.

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

The position is responsible for developing schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives, developing the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable optimum development of children and facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students through organization of the learning environment.

The job provides responsibility for exam materials – report books, evaluation records, class register, record book, lesson note books, record of work, schemes of work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Implementation of integrated curriculum.
  • Monitoring, evaluating and reporting student’s progress.
  • In charge of school weekly duties.
  • Classroom management.
  • In charge of class co-curricular activities
  • Pastoral Care, Discipline, Guidance and Counseling
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Academic and Professional Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma from Kenya National Examination Council.
  • Registered with TSC
  • Must have solid training in teaching Competence Based Curriculum (CBC).
  • Relevant teaching experience.
  • Proficiency in English & Kiswahili; both written and spoken and technologically savvy.
