Overview of the Position
On-behalf of our client in Ghana, we are looking for an experienced and reliable House Manager to join our client's family household. The role involves maintaining a clean and organized home, managing laundry, preparing meals, and providing basic childcare support for a toddler. The ideal candidate will have experience working in family settings, a keen eye for detail, and a nurturing attitude towards young children. Flexibility, efficiency, and the ability to work collaboratively with the family and the Nanny are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Household Cleaning & Maintenance
- Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping internal and external spaces, mopping, vacuuming, and wiping surfaces.
- Sanitize and restock bathrooms and kitchen areas.
- Maintain organization in common areas such as the living room, dining room, and the toddler’s play area.
- Conduct deep-cleaning tasks (e.g., cleaning the refrigerator, oven, or windows) on a weekly or biweekly basis.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic environment in the toddler’s room and play areas.
- Laundry & Linens
- Wash, dry, fold, and iron family laundry, including toddler clothes and delicate fabrics.
- Change and wash bed linens weekly or as needed.
- Keep the laundry area organized and ensure supplies are stocked.
- Cooking & Meal Preparation
- Prepare nutritious family meals and snacks, considering dietary preferences as requested or following established meals plans.
- Assist in meal prepping for the toddler, ensuring fresh and age-appropriate meals.
- Clean kitchen surfaces, appliances, and cookware after meal preparation.
- Childcare Support
- Provide basic support for the Nanny in caring for the toddler, especially during meal times, playtime, and nap times.
- Supervise the toddler when the Nanny is unavailable, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining the toddler’s toys, books, and supplies.
- Support the family during outings or travel as needed.
- Additional Duties
- Run errands, such as grocery shopping, picking up household items, or handling minor errands.
- Maintain an organized inventory of household supplies, ensuring timely restocking.
- Assist with seasonal tasks, such as organizing wardrobes, packing for family trips, or setting up decorations.
- Collaborate with the Nanny and parents to ensure a smooth daily routine for the household.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a House Manager in a family home, preferably with experience caring for toddlers.
- Knowledge of household cleaning techniques and laundry care.
- Basic cooking skills with an understanding of toddler nutrition.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
- Warm, nurturing, and patient demeanour, with an understanding of toddler needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing household needs.
- First aid and CPR certification (preferred).
