Job Purpose:

To manage the housekeeping and sanitation team, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control are maintained throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and schedule the housekeeping staff to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules, protocols, and checklists for all areas (wards, theatres, offices, public areas).
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) standards, including proper waste segregation, handling, and disposal.
  • Monitor the use of cleaning agents, supplies, and equipment, and manage inventory to prevent shortages.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
  • Coordinate linen management, including collection, laundering, and distribution.
  • Investigate and address any hygiene-related complaints or issues.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health, Institutional Management, or a related field. Certification in Infection Control is a strong advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hospital or hotel environment.

  • Strong leadership, training, and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of cleaning standards, infection control, and waste management.
  • High attention to detail and quality control.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities.
