We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to join our Nairobi team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of an HR department within a leading international NGO. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, highly organized, and committed to supporting Concern’s humanitarian mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Help maintain and update employee physical and digital files, ensuring accuracy and strict confidentiality.
  • Provide administrative support in the management of staff benefits and insurance schemes.
  • Assist in the filing of statutory deductions (NSSF, NHIF) and other compliance-related documentation.
  • Support the coordination of training sessions and workshops (booking venues, preparing materials, managing attendance lists).
  • Help in tracking staff training records and evaluating training programs.
  • Assist in drafting HR communications and circulars for staff.
  • Support HR projects such as employee engagement surveys, performance management cycle tracking, and policy reviews.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including managing the HR inbox, preparing reports, and minute-taking in meetings.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • A recent graduate (within the last 2 years) or current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in starting a career in Human Resources, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Desirable:

  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in an office/admin environment is an advantage.
  • Understanding of Kenyan labour laws.
  • Personal values aligned with the mission and ethos of Concern Worldwide.
