Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment, selection, onboarding, induction, and employee deployment.
  • Maintain confidential employee records, contracts, and personnel files.
  • Implement HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
  • Manage employee relations, grievances, workplace concerns, and disciplinary processes.
  • Promote equality, teamwork, diversity, and inclusion across operational locations.
  • Monitor workplace relationships and advise management on employee-relations risks.
  • Coordinate probation reviews, performance planning, and employee appraisals.
  • Support payroll preparation by verifying attendance, leave, overtime, allowances, and employee changes.
  • Administer annual, sick, compassionate, and other authorized leave.
  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws, occupational safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Support workforce planning, job descriptions, staffing structures, training, and development.
  • Prepare HR reports covering staffing, attendance, turnover, grievances, recruitment, and performance.
  • Support employee welfare, engagement, workplace communication, and other assigned HR duties.
  • Undertake regular travel to operational sites.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Related degree holders must have a Diploma/Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management or CHRP-K.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in agriculture, specifically horticulture or beekeeping.
  • Knowledge of the Employment Act, 2007 and applicable Kenyan labour laws.
  • Membership in the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
  • Working knowledge of payroll administration, performance management, employee records, Microsoft Office, and HRIS.

  • Strong employee relations and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, establish HR systems, and support diverse teams.

  • Practical, approachable, and solutions-oriented.
