Kenya Builders & Concrete Co. Ltd is hiring a Human Resource Officer skilled in talent recruitment, employee relations, payroll administration, and labor law compliance.
Responsibilities or duties
Payroll Management.
- Reconcile biometric and manual attendance records daily.
- Monitor factory workers’ duty rosters for optimal work hours.
- Prepare salary inputs for payroll processing and ensure proper approval for deductions/additional payments.
Health & Safety.
- Ensure all new employees complete H&S induction before starting work.
- Maintain H&S induction records and send to HQ.
- Enforce proper use of PPE and participate in the H&S committee to close CAPA actions.
Documentation & Compliance
- Draft and distribute employee communications after HQ approval; maintain personnel files.
- Disseminate HQ communications to staff through multiple channels.
Hiring & Induction
- Collaborate with line managers to forecast labor needs and maintain staffing levels.
- Conduct initial interviews and ensure proper checks for casual staff recruitment.
Training Coordination
- Facilitate mandatory compliance training (Health & Safety, Fire) annually.
- Organize other approved trainings, track attendance, and maintain training records.
Employee Relations
- Address staff issues proactively and initiate disciplinary actions per HR manual.
- Maintain complete documentation for disciplinary cases and grievances.
Performance Management
- Ensure completion and sign-off of goal sheets and KPIs.
- Track and report monthly performance conversations and provide feedback to HRBP.
- Manage year-end performance processes, salary reviews, and performance improvement plans (PIPs).
HR Data & Reporting
- Maintain accurate HR records, including hires, turnover, appraisals, absenteeism, and leave data. Update HR automation systems as required.

- Use the IT automation software/hardware made available to you as per company policy

- Ensure all reports sent by you or your teams to any other department/Director(s) are complete and cross checked for errors
- Conduct the MPCs for your TMs and prepare for yours on time as per the process with full diligence and sincerity
- Follow the SOPs and processes for your department in letter and spirit

- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
