JOB DETAILS:
Position: Human Resources Officer

Position type: FTC (5 months contract)

Location: Kisumu Hospital

Department: Human Resources

Reports To: Hospital Manager

Job Objective/Purpose

To ensure implementation of the organizations policies through systems and practices that contribute to building the organizations human capital in line with the company goals. The successful candidate will be expected to have good understanding in Human Resources, employment act and labour laws.

Key Responsibilities

1. Balance the manpower staffing levels in liaison with respective Line Managers
2. Be involved actively in recruitment, on boarding, development, and retention of employees
3. Be a first point of contact for staff queries on HR related issues
4. Maintain and update staff information on the database in HRMIS and personnel files.
5. Advice and support managers/supervisors on leave management.
6. Advice line managers and other employees on employment law and the organizations policies
7. Assist staff to understand their job descriptions, functions, roles & responsibilities
8. Advising line managers and staff on handling of disciplinary issues
9. Support and coordinate performance cycle by ensuring timely compilation of documentation and reporting.
10. Assist the line managers in implementing and introducing employee engagement strategies that will contribute to teamwork and will enable a conducive working environment.
11. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times

Person Specification

1. A Higher National Diploma in HR or CHRP- K. A Bachelor’s in human resources or business– related field will be an added advantage.
2. Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in Human Resources.
3. A member in good standing at IHRM-K
4. Proficient in MS Office and Human Resources Information Systems
5. Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
6. A team player
