About the Job

Our client is a leading provider of HR solutions in Kenya. They are seeking to hire a qualified and experienced Human Resources Officer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, personnel files, contracts, and HR documentation while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Prepare employment contracts, confirmation letters, promotion letters, transfer letters, disciplinary letters, and other HR correspondence.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and induction programmes for new employees.
  • Administer employee leave records, attendance records, and other HR information.
  • Support payroll preparation by providing accurate employee data, leave records, statutory deductions, and payroll updates.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, company policies, and statutory employment requirements.
  • Assist in implementing employee performance management processes, including appraisal scheduling and documentation.
  • Coordinate staff training programmes, learning initiatives, and employee development activities.
  • Handle employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employee benefits.
  • Participate in disciplinary processes by preparing documentation, scheduling hearings, and maintaining disciplinary records.
  • Assist in resolving employee relations issues professionally and confidentially.
  • Prepare periodic HR reports, recruitment reports, staff movement reports, leave reports, and other management reports.
  • Coordinate exit processes, including clearance procedures, exit interviews, and final documentation.
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Perform any other Human Resource duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of relevant Human Resource experience.
  • Knowledge of Kenyan Labour Laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly adaptable, proactive, hardworking, and able to take initiative.
  • Professional, organized, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and administrative skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Female candidates aged between 28–32 years engouraged to apply 
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection process, including job posting, screening resumes, and conducting interviews.
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in the HRIS.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance and leave management.
  • Support in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Handle employee relations issues and provide guidance on HR-related matters.
  • Assist in performance management processes and employee development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in HR (e.g., CHRP) is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience as an HR Officer or in a similar HR role.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and HRIS systems.
