ROLE PURPOSE
To manage payroll, HR budgeting, staff costing, job grading, compensation, and benefits (70%) while supporting HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, and performance management (30%). The role requires a CPA‑certified professional with advanced financial and analytical skills, combined with HR expertise, to ensure compliance, fairness, and efficiency across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Payroll, HR Budgeting & Compensation (70%)
Payroll Administration
- Collect, validate, and process employee data (attendance, overtime, allowances, deductions) for Kenya market.
- Calculate gross and net salaries, statutory deductions (PAYE, NSSF, NHIF), and company contributions.
- Prepare payroll journals and reconcile with Finance systems.
- Ensure timely salary disbursement.
- Maintain payroll records for audits and compliance.
HR Budgeting & Staff Costing
- Develop annual HR budgets and forecast payroll costs.
- Conduct staff costing analysis to support workforce planning and financial sustainability.
- Monitor variances and provide monthly reports.
Job Grading & Compensation
- Implement job grading frameworks aligned to organizational structure.
- Conduct role evaluations and ensure pay equity across grades.
- Design compensation packages that reflect responsibilities and market standards.
Administration
Benefits
- Manage employee benefits programs (medical insurance,allowances).
- Ensure compliance with statutory and company policies.
- Act as point of contact for employee queries on compensationand benefits.
Financial Oversight
- Apply CPA expertise to validate payroll entries and ensure compliance with tax and labor laws.
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and audit‑ready documentation.
HR Officer Support (30%)
Recruitment & Hiring
- Support recruitment cycles, assist in candidate screening, and coordinate interviews.
- Ensure job descriptions and grading align with organizational standards.
Onboarding
- Facilitate orientation programs and ensure smooth integrationof new employees.
- Prepare onboarding documentation and ensure compliance with HR policies.
Performance Reviews
- Support appraisal cycles, maintain records, and assist managers with performance feedback.
- Provide data insights from payroll and HR systems to inform performance discussions
Employee Relations
- Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality.
- Act as liaison between employees and management on HR matters.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- CPA certification is mandatory.
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in payroll, HR budgeting, compensation,and benefits management.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems in a multi‑country or multinational environment.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws, tax regulations, and HR frameworks.
