Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) is an independent Commission established under
Article 230 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, with the mandate to set and regularly review the Re-
muneration and Benefits of all State Officers and to advise the National and County Governments
on the Remuneration and Benefits of all other Public Officers. In carrying out its mandate, the Com-
mission has to take into account the principles of: fiscal sustainability of the public compensation
bill, attraction and retention of requisite skills for service delivery, productivity and performance,
transparency, fairness and equity.
The Commission seeks to recruit a qualified and competent person to fill the position of Head of
Human Resources and Administration Level RL3.
Employee Record Management: Maintaining, updating, and securing employee records, including personal information, contracts, and absence records. Recruitment and Onboarding: Posting job ads, scheduling interviews, assisting with candidate screening, and preparing new hire paperwork. Payroll and Benefits: Providing data for payroll processing, managing employee benefits, and assisting with expense forms. Policy and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies, and helping to develop and update HR policies. Employee Relations: Acting as a point of contact for employee questions, mediating disputes, and addressing issues like bullying or harassment. Reporting and Data Analysis: Creating HR reports on metrics such as hiring, turnover, and employee performance. Training and Development: Identifying training needs and assisting with coordinating training sessions and materials. Administrative Support: Scheduling meetings, managing HR correspondence, and maintaining the HR department's database or HRIS system.
Organizational and Time Management: To effectively manage a variety of tasks and deadlines. Communication: Both written and verbal communication skills to interact with employees and management. Attention to Detail: Crucial for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance. Confidentiality: The ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion. Interpersonal Skills: To build relationships and provide support to employees at all levels. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Problem-Solving: To resolve employee issues and address challenges that arise in the workplace.
Upon being successful and granted an offer of employment, the successful candidate MUST pres- ent and satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 by providing copies of the following documents; A valid tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA); A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI); A valid Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB); A valid Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) (Must provide certificate or report); and A Valid Clearance form from the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC)
