Responsibilities or duties
Lead the design and implementation of hybrid cloud infrastructure, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and security standards.
Manage Microsoft cloud including Azure, Exchange Online/M365, and Windows Server components.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and configuration standards for cloud systems and networks.
Ensure robust backup, disaster recovery, and system hardening practices.
Collaborates to long-term networking strategy and cloud migration roadmap in collaboration with ICT leadership.
Support in virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V etc) and DevOps tools (Terraform, Ansible, Docker).
Implement proactive monitoring and alerting systems to detect and resolve cloud infrastructure issues before service impact.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with MSF ICT policies and external frameworks as CIS & NIST.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other MSF entities to integrate cloud-native solutions and enhance operational efficiency.
Resource optimization: regularly review recommendations (Azure Advisor, ...) related to VMs’ sizing and avoid over- or under-provisioning.
Continuous Improvement: Proactively make suggestions to increase efficiency and reduce overhead.
Incident Management: investigate and resolve incidents and alerts.
Monitor cloud infrastructure health, resource quotas and log to ensure optimal performance.
Manage and support the deployment and configuration of azure virtual machines, virtual networks, load balancing, and scaling solutions.
Collaborate with the applications team to deploy, install, and support HQ and field applications.
Develop and maintain PowerShell Scripts to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Education
Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Certifications; Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Plus).
Experience needed
Minimum 5 years in network and ICT cloud infrastructure roles
Language; English (required)
Knowledge
Expertise in networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, IPsec)
Cloud platforms (Azure etc)
Microsoft systems (M365, Azure AD, Intune)
Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V etc)
Backup/storage (Veeam, HP 3PAR etc)
Linux, DevOps tools, IaaC
Basic database administration (asset)
Competencies
Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills, autonomous and collaborative mindset, adaptable to change, and willingness to work outside office hours when needed.
Knowledge of Azure DevOps is desirable.

Job Location: MSF Eastern Africa office in Nairobi (Kenya)
Contract: Open-ended Full-time contract.
Start date: ASAP.
Salary: An annual salary of EUR 23,296 at HQ Grade 7 based on a full-time appointment with an annual increment of 2% every year up to a maximum of 10 years.
Work-life balance financial benefit; ranging between EUR 247 to 295/month based on individual & administrative status. This amount may be used to cover accommodation and utilities, transportation, etc.
Other benefits include; 25 days of annual leave, Employer Pension contribution and medical insurance cover (staff and family) based on MSF EA terms/conditions.
