Job descriptions & requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, including vital signs and response to treatment.
  • Operate and manage ICU equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and monitoring devices.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in resuscitation procedures.
  • Maintain infection prevention and control standards at all times.
  • Provide support and education to patients’ families regarding care and treatment plans.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Higher Diploma in Critical Care Nursing.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and holding a valid practicing license.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an ICU or critical care setting.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is an added advantage.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and effectively.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
