Background

The job holder will be responsible for installing & maintaining plant electronics and instrumentation for reliable functioning of machinery, plant and equipment in factories, power stations and other machinery/equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation, calibration, and maintenance of instruments/electronic equipment used in tea processing: weighbridges, portable weighing equipment, online weighing systems i.e., weigh feeders, moisture analyzers.
  • Carry out installation and configuration of various automation devices such as VFDs, controllers, indicators, actuators, recorders.
  • Interpret schematic drawings and implement installations as assigned.
  • Maintenance of hydro equipment, biogas, and Diesel generators.
  • Maintenance of boiler control systems.
  • Repair of domestic electronic equipment i.e., fridges, ovens, friers, TVs etc.
  • Undertake preventative and breakdown maintenance as assigned to reduce downtime to users.
  • Repair of logging mechanization equipment i.e., automated log harvester, automated log forwarder, automatic log splitters, Hyundai etc.
  • Compliance with company Health & Safety systems, policies, reporting & procedures within the Electrical area & during all assignments.
  • Adhere to HACCP plan and other regulations in the plant while carrying the above duties.
  • Drive total compliance to Health & Safety systems, policies, reporting & procedures within the workplace.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation or a related field.
  • Computer literate
  • At least 3 years' experience in basic electrical installation and maintenance (knowledge on instruments and powerline maintenance)
  • Basic understanding of automation
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Must be a team player
