The Internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35-40 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

Specific tasks and responsibilities

Support day-to-day management and operations of the RMPB Section, including:

  • Update and maintain all documentation regarding RMPB Section related project communication materials into consolidated electronic filing systems in MS Teams;
  • Maintain and monitor the RMPB Section’s content management systems, social media follower database, and Flickr account;
  • Support the implementation of RMPB Section’s communication strategy, especially through the use of social media and newsletters;
  • Develop a RMPB Section’s weekly newsletter focusing on CPS and Eco-DRR related issues and respond to user inquiries;
  • Assist in the daily maintenance of RMPB Section’s knowledge management platforms including the Virtual Global Support Centre;
  • Provide content creation support for RMPB Section social media channels, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter;
  • Contribute ideas to help increase RMPB Section audience engagement across digital channels;
  • Support further development and maintenance of the RMPB Section website, especially the “About page”, “Experts page”, and “Case studies”.

Support the work on Risk Management and Peacebuilding Section:

  • Support to developing programmatic content for the RMPB Section, including conducting background research for concept notes and programme documents;
  • Support the development of Climate Security Risk assessments, help manage project deliverables and policy support.
  • Support in organizing and executing events, such as webinars and conference side events, including drafting agendas, invitations and preparatory documents, preparing presentations and taking minutes and follow-up on agreed action points;
  • Support with the creation of communications products, such as presentations, flyers etc.
  • Updating of RMPB Section/CSM websites as requested;
  • Support the RMPB Section monitoring, evaluation, data collection and analysis to identify trends or patterns and provides insights through visualization of qualitative, quantitative and geospatial (GIS) analyses to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting;
  • Any other research and communication tasks, as required.

Support the secretariat and management of the Partnership for Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR)

Qualifications/special skills

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a graduate program with background in communications, environmental sciences, environmental policy, disaster management, climate change studies, informational graphics, graphic design, environment-related advocacy, or other related fields Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience.

However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent),

Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
