Responsibilities
Technical Support & Development The intern will:
Website application and development: assist with various stages of website development using established web technologies and frameworks including creating mock-ups and user flows.
Technical support: Provide technical support and support assist with planning, design, development and implementation of websites and application systems.
Thematic research: Conducting research on tools and best practices on new technologies relevant to the information systems field and assisting in the testing and evaluation of new products and tools.
Content management: Assist in updating the website and other tools such as the e-learning courses with new information and visual updates.
Testing and debugging: Assist in the testing of newly developed features to identify and troubleshoot minor bugs and enhance application quality.
Documentation and training: Assist in creating technical documentation for applications and training materials for tools in development.
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:
Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher),
Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent),
Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent. Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite). Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes a willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Preferred areas of study: Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, Software Engineering or any other related fields.
