Canaaneast company Limited is seeking for a detail-oriented and analytical Internal Auditors to support the execution of the organization’s risk-based internal audit plan. The role involves conducting audits across financial, operational, compliance and performance areas while ensuring strong internal controls, regulatory compliance and continuous process improvement.

• Support the execution of the annual risk-based internal audit plan by performing assigned audit engagements across financial, operational, compliance and performance areas.
• Conduct risk assessments at process and unit level including identifying control gaps and areas of exposure and document results in audit working papers.
• Perform audit fieldwork, including walkthroughs, testing of controls, substantive procedures and compliance reviews in line with approved audit programs.
• Review the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls to ensure compliance with Group policies, procedures, applicable laws and regulations.
• Evaluate operational processes to confirm alignment with approved procedures, objectives and performance targets and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in reviewing corporate governance documentation, including policies, standard operating procedures and statutory or regulatory records, and report gaps noted.
• Participate in follow-up audits to verify implementation of agreed management actions and update the status of audit recommendations.
• Liaise with process owners during audits to obtain information, clarify processes and discuss preliminary observations.
• Prepare draft audit findings and reports, including clear observations, root causes, risks and recommendations for review by the Senior Internal Auditor.
• Maintain complete and accurate audit documentation in line with internal audit standards and methodology.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA(K) & Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification or its equivalent will be a core qualification.
• At least 3 years of experience in internal audit, external audit or risk management.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and auditing standards.
• Experience in risk-based auditing and compliance reviews.
