JOB TITLE: INTERNAL INSPECTOR
NATURE OF JOB: FULL TIME
INDUSTRY: AGRIBUSINESS
SALARY: KSHS. 30,000-35,000
JOB LOCATION: KWALE COUNTY
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Inspections & Compliance
Conduct regular internal farm inspections to ensure adherence to organic, fair trade, and climate-smart agriculture standards
Verify farm practices, inputs, and production processes in line with certification requirements
Identify non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions
Maintain inspection schedules and ensure timely follow-ups
Farmer Recruitment & Onboarding
Support Field Officers in identifying and recruiting new farmers into the program
Assist in onboarding processes, including farmer registration and documentation
Ensure new farmers understand certification requirements and program expectations
Farmer Training & Support
Provide continuous training to farmers on:
- Organic farming practices
- Climate-smart agriculture techniques
- Sustainable land use and soil management
Offer technical support to farmers to improve productivity and compliance
Promote adoption of best agricultural practices
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare detailed reports after each internal inspection
Maintain accurate farmer records and inspection documentation
Track compliance status and follow-up actions
Support audit preparation and external inspections
Collaboration & Field Support
Work closely with Field Officers and program teams to ensure smooth implementation of activities
Participate in field visits, farmer meetings, and training sessions
Provide feedback from the field to improve program effectiveness
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
Diploma in Agriculture or a related field
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in agricultural extension, inspection, or related roles
Strong understanding of Organic farming standards, Fair trade principles, Climate-smart agriculture practices
Experience working with smallholder farmers is an added advantage
Strong observational and analytical skills
Excellent report writing and documentation abilities
Good communication and training skills
Ability to work independently in rural field settings
