Background

Lecturer role at Kisii University. Responsible for teaching and assessing students, developing course materials, conducting research, supervising students, and supporting academic programmes. The role is based in Kisii with duties performed on-site.

Qualifications

To be eligible for appointment to the position of Lecturer, the candidate must have:

• MBCHB or BDS or BSc. Anatomy from an accredited/recognized institution;
• MMed or MDS and Specialist training;
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience;
• Evidence of recognition and registration by the relevant regulatory body where applicable; and
• Evidence of membership or affiliation of the relevant professional body where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

An individual appointed as a Senior Lecturer shall:

• Teach and assess courses in one’s discipline at both undergraduate and post graduate levels;
• Supervise undergraduate students’ projects and other experimental learning programmes;
• Supervise dissertations/theses at postgraduate level;
• Assist in developing/review of undergraduate and postgraduate courses;
• Initiate, promote and participate in research projects;
• Participate in academic leadership programmes;
• Provide professional and community services, and initiate strategic training and research partnerships and linkages, and such other duties and responsibilities as maybe assigned from time to time.
• Carry out administrative and such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
