The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. ICAO was established in 1944 with the primary objective of ensuring the safe, orderly, and efficient development of international civil aviation.
This internship program offers a unique opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain practical experience in a global organization. Interns will have the chance to contribute to ICAO's mission and learn about the complexities of international civil aviation policy and regulation.
Responsibilities:
Interns will be assigned to specific departments based on their qualifications and the needs of the Organization. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with research and data analysis.
- Supporting the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documents.
- Participating in meetings and contributing to discussions.
- Providing administrative support to the assigned team.
- Contributing to ongoing projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university program (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD level) in a relevant field such as aviation management, international relations, law, economics, public administration, communications, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of other ICAO official languages (French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Chinese) is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated interest in international civil aviation.
Experience:
No prior professional experience is required, but relevant internships or volunteer work in related fields will be considered an advantage.
Additional Information:
Internships are typically for a duration of 3 to 6 months. Interns will receive a monthly stipend to cover living expenses. ICAO is an equal opportunity employer.
