Inventory Coordinator
Job Purpose:
To manage, control, and optimize inventory across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods in a steel manufacturing environment, ensuring accuracy, cost efficiency, system integrity, and uninterrupted production operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Stock Management
- Manage end-to-end inventory for raw materials, consumables, and finished goods
- Ensure optimal stock levels to support production while minimizing excess, slow-moving, and obsolete stock
- Develop and enforce inventory control procedures, stock movement controls, and authorization limits
- Monitor stock ageing, turnover ratios, and consumption trends
Systems & Reporting (SAGE & Excel)
- Maintain accurate inventory records in SAGE ERP
- Perform regular system reconciliations between physical stock and system balances
- Prepare detailed inventory reports using advanced Excel.
- Generate monthly inventory valuation reports for finance and management
Stock Audits & Controls
- Conduct and supervise cycle counts, monthly and annual stock takes
- Investigate and resolve stock variances, losses, damages, and discrepancies
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce inventory shrinkage
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements
Costing & Financial Coordination
- Work closely with finance on inventory valuation, COGS, and production costing
- Ensure correct posting of GRNs, issues, transfers, and adjustments
- Support budgeting and forecasting through accurate inventory data
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal control policies
Manufacturing & Production Support
- Coordinate with production planning to align inventory availability with production schedules
- Monitor raw material consumption against production output
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce wastage and improve material utilization
Team & Stakeholder Coordination
- Supervise storekeepers and inventory clerks
- Liaise with procurement, production, logistics, and finance teams
- Train staff on inventory procedures, system usage, and best practices
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Accounting, or Finance (mandatory)
- CPA or ACCA qualification – added advantage
- At least 5 years’ experience in inventory / stock management.
- Prior experience in Steel Manufacturing industry is required.
- Strong working knowledge of SAGE ERP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
