Job Purpose

The Inventory Supervisor will oversee all aspects of inventory movement within the warehouse, ensuring timely, complete, and accurate tracking of stock in and out. The role is responsible for maintaining inventory integrity, minimizing discrepancies, and supporting efficient warehouse operations

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Confirm that physical stocks received in the warehouse match their respective Goods Received Notes (GRNs).
  • Coordinate and oversee cycle counts as well as annual stock counts.
  • Maintain and update discrepancy trackers, ensuring issues are resolved within required turnaround times (TAT).
  • Accountable for inventory variances, discrepancies, losses, and damages in the stores.
  • Maintain inventory reports, including stock in hand, aging stock, slow‑moving stock, and obsolete stock.
  • Provide accurate physical stock positions to inform category teams of risks of overstocking or understocking.

Process Oversight

  • Collaborate with retail store clerks and the inventory control team on warehouse inventory matters.
  • Serve as the inventory process champion by training the team and ensuring strict adherence to workflow processes.
  • Ensure proper handover of inventory to the packing and dispatch teams.
  • Maintain internal transfer and sales order registers, clearly showing details of stock movement.
  • Appoint and supervise picking teams to ensure items are picked accurately and on time against sales orders or internal transfer requests.

Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with warehouse standards of health, safety, hygiene, and security.
  • Enforce the use of appropriate PPE by staff at their workstations.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and clutter‑free warehouse to reduce risks of accidents and stock damage.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in warehouse operations.
  • Computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for inventory management.
  • Experience working with SAP is an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong data analysis and report writing skills.
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and time management abilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of logistics and inventory processes.
  • Resourceful and proactive in resolving operational challenges.
  • High integrity and strong work ethic.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
