Company Overview

Somo is a business accelerator that supports social entrepreneurs working to transform low-income communities. We invest in community-led initiatives and provide the resources entrepreneurs need to build sustainable enterprises. These resources include business training, funding, access to new markets and tailored advising and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support entrepreneurs through the loan application process and ensure all required documentation is complete
  • Collect, organize, and verify financial and business information for loan assessments
  • Capture accurate financial and business data into portfolio management systems
  • Track loan repayments and conduct follow-ups through calls, messages, or business visits
  • Prepare repayment status updates, dashboards, and portfolio reports
  • Maintain organized digital loan records for compliance, audit, and reporting purposes
  • Collaborate with program teams by sharing business insights and supporting financial literacy initiatives
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling assessments, meetings, and investment committee documentation

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and cash flow analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Professionalism, integrity, and teamwork ability
  • Experience working with entrepreneurs or SMEs is an added advantage
