Company Description

Thibitisha | Pay Safely is a Kenyan platform that makes social media–based buying and selling secure by acting as a trusted intermediary between buyers and sellers. The service holds buyer funds via M-Pesa until a verified delivery and item check are completed, reducing fraud and disputes in online commerce. Thibitisha supports both buyers and sellers, offering verified posts, safe payment links, and flexible delivery options through riders, couriers, or in-store collection. The business model is simple and transparent, charging a low percentage fee on item prices without sign-up or monthly costs. Built by Matel Technologies Limited in Nairobi, Thibitisha is focused on Kenya first, with plans to expand across East Africa.

Role Description

The Investor role at Thibitisha | Pay Safely is a full-time, on-site position based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The investor will collaborate closely with the founding team to shape growth strategies, evaluate market opportunities, and support capital allocation decisions that advance safe online commerce in Kenya and the wider region. Day-to-day activities include reviewing financial performance, assessing risk and return profiles, participating in strategic planning sessions, and advising on partnerships that strengthen the platform’s ecosystem. The role involves monitoring key metrics, contributing to fundraising initiatives where relevant, and helping ensure that governance, compliance, and ethical standards are maintained. The investor will engage with internal and external stakeholders to support sustainable scaling while preserving user trust.
