Effective irrigation is more than simply supplying water. It requires accurate scheduling, field monitoring, equipment management, soil moisture assessment, and a strong understanding of crop requirements.
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of our client, a leading agricultural enterprise, is looking for an Irrigation Foreman to take a hands-on role in managing irrigation operations for fine beans and tenderstems across production farms in Laikipia.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate should bring:
- A Diploma in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy or a related field
- 2+ years of active irrigation or farm supervisory experience
- Direct experience with fine beans and tenderstems
- Experience supervising field teams
- Practical knowledge of drip and overhead irrigation systems
- Basic irrigation/plumbing troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills
- Familiarity with GlobalGAP compliance, safe water use and agricultural safety standards
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 12
Level of Education: associate degree
