Safe Driving: Operating a vehicle safely at all times is paramount, encompassing defensive driving, managing speed, and maintaining awareness of surroundings. Navigation: Familiarity with GPS devices and the ability to read maps and plan efficient routes are essential. Vehicle Maintenance: Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance, including performing minor repairs and keeping the vehicle clean and functional, is necessary.
Communication: Effectively communicating with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers is a vital soft skill. Time Management: Managing driving and work hours efficiently to meet deadlines is a core responsibility. Customer Service: Drivers often serve as the face of a company, so professionalism and friendliness can improve customer satisfaction. Teamwork: The ability to work effectively with colleagues in a fast-paced environment is beneficial.
