SBCC Officer

Ref: SBCCO/LVCT/12/2022

Job purpose
The overall responsibility of the SBCC Officer will be to develop and lead SBCC activities for the MOSAICproject and across LVCT work. Key roles and responsibilities
• Lead the development of the MOSAIC SBCC strategy in collaboration with LVCT HealthCommunication and knowledge management and project team
• Coordinate the implementation of the SBCC strategy
• Work closely with LVCT Health CKM team to coordinate communications and media activities including development of appropriate SBCC messages, placement of messages onselect mass media and appropriate new media platforms.
• Coordinate knowledge and lessons sharing on SBCC interventions with project teams andrelevant stakeholders
• Work collaboratively with other project team members to ensure necessary program planning, development, resource availability and management activities function smoothly and efficiently.
• Routinely oversee IEC materials development, adoption of existing messages and determination for media placement.
• In collaboration with CKM team, contribute to documenting experiences, preparing reports, presentations, briefs and articles for publication.
• Support national level development and implementation of demand generation initiatives
• Undertake capacity building activities to increase the effectiveness of LVCT Health and project staff, partners to implement demand creation programming among target populations
• Represent LVCT Health and the project in external SBCC activities where applicable
• Contribute to timely and appropriate reporting

Required Qualification, Skills, and Experience
• Must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Mass Communications, Sociology, Marketing, Health Communication etc.)
• Master’s degree in the aforementioned field will be an added advantage
• Proven working experience and history with PEPFAR (USAID,CDC) funded initiativesincluding Mass Media, New media, Digital media, Interpersonal communication etc.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic communication principles and practices andsolidmastery of health behavior change theory grounded in applied field applications.
• Knowledge and experience in designing and implementing evidence-based behavior changeapproaches that incorporate the role of products, social factors and environment infacilitating change.
• Must possess good communication skills with ability to build and maintain relationships withdifferent stakeholders to enable the exchange of information among stakeholders
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills
• Experience in gender and gender norms highly desirable
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Adobe suite
• Should demonstrate positive attitude and behavior that aligns to programvalues


QI Technical Officer

Key responsibilities
Lead the oversight of the QI Collaborative.
• Collaborate with government and stakeholder partners to launch and implement QI Collaborative
• Coordinate the work of QI coaches and facility QI teams to ensure proper implementation of QI activities, including QI coaching visits; ensuring compliance with QI processes;
• Leverage on existing or support the establishment of facility QI structure to support QI collaborative implementation;
• Support coaches and teams in continuous learning and improvement to increase and improve PrEP initiation service provision among eligible clients;
• Support facility QI coaches with on-site training and mentorship on a PDSA-based model for inform identify gaps, implement suggested QI strategies, document changes and test their impact during specific action periods;
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to revive/leverage learning sessions at the national level and regionally (through the CATALYST cross-country PrEP Exchange platform) that will allow teams toshare their experiences (supported by monitoring data) and to learn about best practices and how they can be replicated.
• Ensure data collection, analysis, learning and knowledge management from Collaborative tosupportSTUDY:
• Ensuring all QI-related data collection is conducted as per protocol (QI reports, user surveys, provider surveys, run charts);
• Coordinate and engage with M&E staff for indicator development, data collection activities, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) development, data quality assurance policies andprocedures, and data review and analysis;
• Oversee QI data collection and QI data analysis, provide QI feedback to site staff and improvesiteperformance based on the analysis and assessments indicators;
• Jointly with coaches and other team members, develop knowledge management context for QI briefs every six months;
• Support conducting and documenting data patient feedback system and from6 monthlyExperienced -based co-design;
• Present improvement data and stories to stakeholders, QI faculty and in various forums. C. Administrative and management tasks and collaboration with other areas of CATALYST/MOSAIC:
• Assist in the work plan and budget development for QI activities;
• Contribute to the development of work plans, quarterly and annual reports, financial reports, andany other reports required by MOSAIC;
• Document QI training, QI Collaborative activities, and technical assistance activities and prepare QI-related data for presentation for a diverse range of audiences and present data in dissemination venues;
• Produce and disseminate technical reports, guides, manuals, success stories, and other writtenmaterials;
• Work collaboratively with MOH, MOSAIC relevant POCs and other stakeholders to supportmechanisms for regular engagement with national and sub-national decision-makers, sitemanagers, health care providers, youth and community advisory group representatives and civil society representatives involved in CATALYST through learning sessions conducted three times peryear;
• As part of QI collaborative efforts, work collaboratively with Lab and Pharmacy personnel QI leads to oversee the management (storage& dispensing) of HIV testing commodities and PrEP choice products;
• Participate in QI faculty meetings and provide regular updates;
• Participate in the regional PrEP Exchange, organized for members of each country’s QI collaborative twice per year for cross-country dialogue, knowledge sharing, and learning. Qualifications and Knowledge
• University Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Clinical (or proven equivalent experience). • Proficiency in using PDSA for quality improvement • Analytical skills

Experience
• Prior experience of the oversight of the implementing quality/performance improvementprograms/ Quality Improvement Collaborative model is desirable
• Prior experience in intervention/implementation research studies will be added advantage, including publications
• Experience in developing and conducting training is desirable.
• Knowledge and experience in HIV prevention, preference for clinical or nursing working experience.
• Good interpersonal skills and adult learning techniques mastery
• Willingness to travel frequently to Catalyst sites

Terms of Employment
This will be an annual renewable year contract per the LVCT Health service scheme. The candidate will be on probation for three (3) months. Compensation for this position is negotiable within a relevant grade based on educational levels, relevant experience and demonstrated competency.

Data Manager

Key responsibilities
• Coordinate data management across all study sites, including design databases for data entry and storage; data review and validation, including discrepancy checking and cleaning.
• Training and supervising data collection teams and activities in the study sites in collaboration with the Lead Research Coordinator and Principal Investigator.
• Programming the data collection tools -in mobile hand-held devices such as tablets.
• Participate in setting up and pre-testing data collection platforms approved by the CATALYST Consortium.
• Establish data management plans and execute the same to realize high-quality data, including doing all required consistency checks for project data. Automate a data cleaning pipeline that can organically identify anomalies for continuous improvement of data quality
• Conduct preliminary data analysis and generate study progress reports and other statistical outputs as required from time to time.
• Represent the research team in project dissemination meetings, training workshops, and technical meetings organized by the Counties and CATALYST consortium members.
• Provide data management support to other LVCT Health research projects where needed, including programming study tools on mobile hand-held devices, training research assistants on the new technologies, and preparing the data for analysis.

Qualifications and Knowledge
• Master level qualification in either Biostatistics / Statistics/ Data Science or Computer science/Management information systems (MIS)
• Proficient in writing and running queries using applications such as MySQL scripting syntax
• A good understanding of health information systems in Kenya

Experience
• At least three (3) years of relevant hands-on experience in quantitative data analysis andvisualization. Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Excel© and at least one statistical analysis software, e.g. Stata / R/ SAS/SPSS.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience managing large datasets and relational databases such as MS Access and SQL and programming using JAVA, Python, XML or SQL on Android or Windows platforms.
• Excellent skills in designing and programming quantitative data collection tools using Red Cap
• Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work with all internal staff levels and flexibility in handling multiple priorities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including translating technical programming and data management information for a non-technical audience.
• Supervision skills demonstrated by prior experience in supervising a team of data personnel. Skills and Behaviors
