Grant Application Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the institutional fundraising strategy.
  • Build strong, effective networks and relationships with donors.
  • Manage key institutional awards and grants including delivering all financial and technical reporting and close-out processes.
  • Collaborate with management to develop high-quality funding proposals and deliver on grant accountabilities. Fundraising
  • Grow and sustain an institutional income in line with clean energy strategic plan.
  • Develop high-quality funding applications including proposals, budgets, log frames, and theory of change in accordance with funder guidelines.
  • Research, identify, and plan approaches to new institutional funding opportunities for the initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and ensure understanding of any implications, risks, and opportunities of institutional funding applications/awards.
  • Remain abreast of institutional donor trends in line with global development goals and share knowledge as appropriate across the organization.
  • Represent Lean energy at networks and forums relevant to institutional funding and funders.
  • Support other areas of fundraising as required in the development of effective fundraising proposals. Grant Management
  • Develop and guide grants implementation ensuring M&E systems and procedures for awarded grants are in place.
  • Lead on institutional donor grant agreement/contract negotiations and compliance ensuring reporting requirements for all institutional donors are met and reports to partners meet set deadlines.
  • Regularly update all key internal stakeholders on the terms and conditions of donor grant agreements/contracts, including key deadlines.
  • Manage due diligence processes, facilitate donor audits and coordinate with the Head of Programmes on external evaluations.
  • Collate and manage data for publication to the companies learning system.
  • Implement the donor management system ensuring all donor contacts, engagements, and deliberations are recorded and tracked towards meeting programme needs.
  • Other duties will be assigned by the management.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Business, Communications or any other related fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in institutional fundraising, grants acquisition, and management in a complex multi-country NGO with demonstrable experience in raising 5 to 6-figure incomes from multi-lateral, bilateral, trusts, foundations, and the private sector.
  • Well-informed on the latest trends in the grants sector with specially honed skills in proposal development and grants monitoring systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills to work across a complex organization structure
  • A results-orientated leader with the ability to handle tight deadlines, and an intensive
  • Workload and manage multiple conflicting organizational, donor, and other stakeholder demands.
  • Working knowledge of programs/projects cycle management.
  • Demonstrate leadership and team-building ability.
  • Working knowledge of proposal writing and negotiation skills.

Project Engineer-Solar Department

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the design engineering and construction of solar energy projects
  • Develop, maintain and execute the project proposal or work plan to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of project to assure that the project requirements can be met.
  • Establish or oversee the work plan, staffing, and budgeting for each phase of project execution, including design, engineering, procurement and construction.
  • Establish the project engineering, procurement and construction budget and take responsibility for the regular review and reporting to accounting on forecasted expenditures under the budget, as well as controlling expenditures so that the project remains within budget.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled project meetings with management, clients, and subcontractors to facilitate, confirm and communicate status of the project execution plan, schedule and engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
  • Provide or coordinate engineering support for development and permitting activities as needed.
  • Oversee the execution of and compliance with construction contracts and work with construction team to ensure adequate scopes of work are executed under those contracts.
  • Coordinate and work with the legal department to facilitate the development, negotiation and execution of project contracts such as Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), term sheets, contracts, supply agreements, equipment purchase agreements, warranty agreements, commissioning agreements. Participates and assists with the construction and financial closings
  • Coordinate the external bidding process required to procure goods and services necessary for all phases of project execution, including preparation of bid packages, evaluation of proposals, contract negotiations and recommendations to senior management.
  • Work with Management and Operations departments to define the requirements for adequate project turn-over and then assist with the transition of the project to Operations upon project completion.
  • Oversee work product of technical personnel during execution of project and ensures compliance with reporting & legal requirements under contracts and lender agreements, and to internal management.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/renewable energy or any relevant fields
  • 8 years’ experience in renewable energy/solar project management & at least 3 years as a project lead.
  • T3 Certified v Experience in the Solar Industry will be a highly added advantage.
  • Excellent communication & leadership skill
  • Must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities, and work under strict deadlines;
  • Should have strong analytical and be result-oriented;
  • Must have high standards of integrity and ethical practice;
  • Must be capable of functioning effectively both as a team player and a team leader
  • Must have management and Leadership skills

Manufacturing Plant Supervisor

Key roles & responsibilities

  • Actualize daily, weekly & monthly production goals by tracking results.
  • Plan, Coordinate and execute production processes using available resources to meet target Demand and quality targets.
  • Create unity of purpose by ensuring manufacturing processes, resources and manpower are in alignment
  • Responsible to adhering to operations budget, costs and losses through forecasting, tracking and reporting.
  • Implement business development plans including identification and submission of capital and extraordinary maintenance projects to improve facility operations.
  • Continuously update, management on frequent basis on the manufacturing site progress & arising issues.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering related field and/or related operations experience
  • 6 + years’ experience in a manufacturing & production supervisory role
  • Excellent Knowledge on KAIZEN will be an added advantage
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a manufacturing environment
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
