Occupational Therapist

Overall Responsibility: 

The successful candidate will work with patients recovering from injuries and disability to help them regain their abilities and skills needed for day to day life and work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Screening, assessing, formulating and implementing patients’ treatment plan;
  • Carrying out clients’ functional assessment and formulating necessary interventions;
    Initiating appropriate therapy intervention programs for patients & clients with disabilities in the Hospital and in the community;
  • Maintaining records and data relating to patients;
  • Liaising with other healthcare professionals to exchange information about the background and progress of patients, as well as to refer patients who require other medical attention;
  • Advising on adaptive equipment to help clients with daily activities.
  • Developing physical rehabilitation programs to help clients regain lost skills.
  • Educating caregivers and family members of clients on patient care.
  • Evaluating results and progress of occupational therapy on clients.
  • Maintaining professional knowledge and technical progress in order to provide clients with the best treatment program available.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution;
  • Membership Certificate of the Kenya Occupational Therapists Association.
  • Proficiency in the MS-suit applications.
  • Compassionate.

Nurse

Overall Responsibility: To provide comprehensive medical and nursing services to all patients in order to assist them regain good health.

To promote and restore patients’ health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families;

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
  • Maintain nursing guidelines by following the laid down Standard Nursing Policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to duty Rosters and Patient Allocation; Assess, Plan and implement nursing care using the Nursing process framework.
  • Maintain the nursing ethos as prescribed in the Nurses’ Act Cap 257 of the Laws of Kenya and the Hospital regulations.
  • Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment with other health and non-health professionals to uplift multidisciplinary team spirit.
  • Promote patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching and counseling patient, friends, and family and reinforcing their understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills.
  • Provide information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests raised by clients.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by following the stipulated nursing guidelines.
  • Protect self, patients and employees by strictly adhering to Infection Control Measures.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
  • Maintain documentation of patient care services by diligently and faithfully filling all necessary patient documentation.
  • Achieve financial objectives by utilizing available resources, using medical equipment correctly and billing promptly services offered.
  • Update inventories daily and ensure emergency equipment are updated on a daily basis.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution
  • Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya and Valid Practice License
  • BLS/ACLS Certification
  • Computer literate
  • Compassionate
  • Knowledge of professional standards
  • At least one (1) year working experience as a Nursing Officer in a reputable health facility.

Driver

Overall Responsibility: The driver will be responsible for managing a fleet of vehicles under them while offering the services of transporting Oasis Healthcare employees, luggage as required, and patients to and from the Oasis premises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transporting staff, patients, clients, luggage from and to different locations.
  • Performing all the mechanical checks before starting the activity shift
  • Checking the medical inventory and restocking them as and when required.
  • Ensuring the safety of the medical vehicle and reporting the faults at the earliest.
  • Providing first aid or administering oxygen if the patient requires care before reaching the hospital.
  • Sanitizing the vehicle and safely disposing of any medical waste and soiled linens.
  • Maintaining the driving log with daily entries and noting patients’ names and addresses, travel times, mileage, and service performed.
  • Reporting accidents to other enforcements such as police, firefighters, etc
  • Checking the medical inventory and restocking them as and when required.

Job Requirements

  • At least KCSE Certification
  • Prior work experience working as an Ambulance Driver or a similar position in a Healthcare unit.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • A clean driving record.
  • Professional certification in First Aid and CRP will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret radio transmission codes.
  • Knowledge of working with emergency vehicle operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Transport Manager 

Overall Responsibility: The successful candidate will manage the transport departments in all the Oasis affiliates; Their main duties include evaluating and modifying operations, determining and enforcing safety protocols, and managing the maintenance and service of transport vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procedures for coordinated operations across the Oasis affiliates.
  • Monitor the overall performance of the transport department; including utilization of the available ambulances.
  • Coordinate with the group marketing office in creating awareness on the available ambulance services.
  • Carry out periodic trainings to the available drivers on the new and upcoming changes in the transport industry including legislations.
  • Participate in the recruitment of drivers.
  • Ensure all vehicles have up to date insurance requirements
  • Maintain detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection
  • Develop strategies for greater fuel efficiency.
  • Manage all the drivers within the Oasis Umbrella
  • Perform driver duties as required
  • Any other duty as may be assigned

Job Requirements

  • Must be a licensed driver.
  • Good understanding of the ambulance operations.
  • Any relevant diploma/degree qualification
  • Ability to use the Ms-Suit application
  • Previous experience in a similar environment will be an added advantage
  • Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills
