Sustainable Mobility Consultant - Global Electric Mobility Strategy

Qualifications/special skills

An advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) in Environmental Sciences, Economics, Automotive Engineering or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with an additional two years relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

  •  At least 5 years work experience in sustainable mobility is required
  •  Substantive knowledge about technical, operational and financial issues of clean mobility and especially electric mobility is required
  •  Experience in the development of strategy documents within the UN context is required
  •  Prior experience working in an international organization is desirable
  •  Sustainable mobility experience in low- and middle-income countries is desirable
  •  Proven analytical, presentation and communication skills are assets.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.

Programme Management Assistant

Education

High school diploma or equivalent is required. First level university degree in Environment Studies, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Policies, or related field is desirable.

Passing the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration in the General Services and related categories in the United Nations Secretariat. Successful passing of the Administrative Support Assessment Test (ASAT) in English at the United Nations Headquarters (UNHQ), Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) or International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) may be accepted in lieu of the GGST.

The GGST is administered to applicants when required before the administration of a written assessment and/or interview.

Work Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in implementation of environmental programmes or project administration, technical cooperation or related area is required.
  • Experience dealing with programme development, budgetary and administrative issues is required.
  • Programme implementation experience at the international level and preferably in developing countries is desirable.
  • Experience in implementing environment and health or air quality projects is desirable.
  • One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
