On behalf of our client, a luxury hotel based in Gilgil, Nakuru County, we are seeking to recruit a Junior Accountant who will support the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Responsibilities or duties
- Record daily financial transactions accurately
- Assist in preparation of financial reports
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts
- Reconcile bank statements and accounts
- Maintain petty cash records and controls
- Support payroll processing activities
- Assist in budgeting and cost tracking
- Ensure proper filing of financial documents
- Monitor and track supplier payments
- Assist in revenue and expense analysis
- Support audit preparation processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies
- Maintain updated accounting records
- Perform any other assigned finance duties
Qualifications or requirements
Skills & Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- High level of integrity
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving ability
- Team player with professionalism
Experience needed
- At least 1–2 years’ experience in an accounting role
- Experience in hospitality industry is an added advantage
