Xolo Energy Ltd is a growing energy and distribution company building a technology-enabled network of fuel stations and related businesses across Kenya and the wider East African region.
We are looking for a young, disciplined and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team and take responsibility for the company's day-to-day accounting and financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts.
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions.
- Prepare bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
- Maintain accounts payable and receivable records.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Assist with cash-flow monitoring and budgeting.
- Handle invoicing, receipts and payment documentation.
- Ensure proper filing and maintenance of financial records.
- Assist with eTIMS, VAT, PAYE, withholding tax and other statutory requirements.
- Monitor transactions across Xolo's business operations and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
- Support preparation of financial information required by banks, suppliers and management.
- Work closely with management to improve financial controls and reporting systems.
- Assist with audits and other financial reviews when required.
Requirements
- CPA qualification or CPA finalist is required.
- At least 1 year of relevant accounting work experience.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
- Good understanding of Kenyan accounting and taxation requirements.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience with accounting software/ERP systems will be an advantage.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone young, ambitious and hands-on, who wants to grow with a rapidly developing company.
The successful candidate should not be someone who only waits for instructions. They should be able to look at a financial process, identify what is missing, and help build a better system.
Experience in fuel, retail, logistics, distribution or multi-branch businesses will be an added advantage.
