Our client, a reputable and growing law firm, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Associate to join its team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality legal services across the Firm's practice areas while contributing to client satisfaction, matter management, and the continued growth of the practice.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Draft and review litigation documents, including pleadings, applications, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and legal precision.
  • Attend court and represent clients professionally and competently.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including HR policies and manuals, employment-related instruments, and commercial contracts.
  • Deliver legal services in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Conduct legal research and provide clear, concise, and practical legal opinions.
  • Write legal articles and other thought leadership materials.
  • Develop training materials and facilitate client and internal training sessions where required.
  • Prepare internal reports and other legal documentation within stipulated timelines.
  • Support billing and debt collection processes to ensure timely invoicing and recovery.
  • Uphold the Firm's values, culture, and professional standards in all assignments.
  • Undertake any other duties assigned from time to time in accordance with the Firm's policies and guidelines.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized university.
  • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing certificate.
  • Strong analytical, research, and legal writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and commercial law, with a keen interest in developing expertise in these areas.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively under pressure.

Experience needed

  • A minimum of three (3) years' post-admission experience is mandatory.
  • Demonstrable litigation practice experience is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and advising clients.
