Role Context
We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team onboard our luxurious cruise ships. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate chef to develop their skills in a fast-paced, international environment and contribute to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in the daily operations of the galley.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented in a timely and appealing manner.
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene and sanitation in the galley and all food preparation areas.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation and ordering.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff.
- Contribute to menu development and special event preparations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or similar role in a reputable establishment.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in English.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
