Maryjoy School was founded in 1998 as a Nursery School, expanded to Primary in 2001 and Junior secondary school in 2023. Our educational program caters to all students.. Our specialized and individualized curriculum caters to students of all abilities, from students of determination to gifted and talented students. Job Summary
This teacher delivers lessons across Kiswahili, General Science, and Social Studies, fostering linguistic, scientific, and civic competencies.
Responsibilities
Kiswahili Responsibilities:
- Teach Language Skills: Develop competencies in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Kiswahili, covering vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure.
- Kiswahili Literature: Introduce students to Kiswahili novels, plays, poetry, and oral traditions, fostering appreciation for cultural heritage.
- Creative Writing: Encourage writing in Kiswahili, including stories, poems, and essays.
General Science Responsibilities:
- Teach Core Science Topics: Cover fundamental concepts in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Practical Experiments: Conduct simple laboratory experiments and demonstrations to reinforce theoretical concepts.
- Health Education: Teach topics on nutrition, disease prevention, and personal hygiene.
Social Studies Responsibilities:
- Civic Education: Teach citizenship, governance, human rights, and the structure of government.
- Social & Cultural Studies: Explore Kenyan cultures, traditions, and contemporary social issues.
- Map Reading: Teach basic map reading skills, including directions, symbols, and interpreting simple maps.
General Teaching Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons catering to different learning styles and abilities.
- Set, administer, and mark tests, assignments, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain a positive, orderly, and safe classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate student records and communicate with parents/guardians on student progress.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be Registered by TSC
- Must have at least 3 yrs Experience in Teaching
- Knowledge in ICT is an added advantage
- Excellent communication and writting skills
- Most be CBE & CBC Compliant
- Holder of a P1 Certificate or an Upgrades Diploma in Education
- Willing to contribute in co-curricular activities
