Job Vacancy: Kindergarten Teacher

Job Purpose

To provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children by delivering age-appropriate instruction, supporting child development, and promoting positive learning experiences in line with approved curriculum standards.

Professional Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must possess:

• A Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) from a recognized institution.
• Training in Special Needs Education (SNE) will be an added advantage.
• Valid Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration.
• A valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Ability to develop age-appropriate schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons for kindergarten learners.
• Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments in line with curriculum requirements.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Monitor and evaluate children’s progress and provide appropriate support.
• Maintain classroom discipline using positive child-centered approaches.
• Promote child safeguarding practices and ensure children’s wellbeing.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school management regarding learner progress.
• Participate in school activities and professional development programmes.
