Kisumu Security Receptionist at Lady Askari

Job Brief

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Security
Receptionist. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure and welcoming
environment for our organization. The Security Receptionist will be responsible for managing access
control, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the overall safety of our premises, assets and
operations.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Reporting the arrival of visitors to their hosts
  • Ensure the correct issuing of access cards with their respective access points
  • Fulfilling telephonic reception duties
  • Keeping a well-maintained record of all access cards
  • Ensuring that all unreturned cards are investigated and accounted for
  • Updating daily visitors’ records
  • Ensuring that all visitors understand the purpose of the access card, and coach visitors on the
    use thereof.
  • Ensure that all contractors’ details are recorded in the contractor’s register.
  • Receive & direct all contractors to their relevant areas of operation within the sites.
  • Ensure that all contactors are issued with contractor Badges.
  • Ensure that all contractors produce their original identification to be granted access to premises.
  • Ensure that all contractors request forms are duly signed by the host to ensure the contractors
    are granted access to the premises.
  • Ensure that all contractors leave the premises by checking them out on the contractors register.
  • Assist the guarding security company where necessary.
  • Ensure that all personal and contracted staff use their access card and that the access door
    remains closed at all times.
  • Receive and dispatch all post and parcels to the relevant mail room

Qualifications

  • College Diploma.
  • 2 years experience as a receptionist. Previous experience in a security-related role is preferred
  • KCSE certificate with a mean grade of C and above.
  • Knowledge of security procedures and emergency response protocols.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with security and surveillance equipment.
  • Adequate computer skills for managing access control systems.
  • Keen observation skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Compliance with any legal requirements for security personnel.
