Job Purpose

To support the kitchen team by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in all kitchen and food preparation areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
  • Ensure proper waste disposal in accordance with hygiene standards.
  • Assist in basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, storage areas, and washing stations.
  • Ensure adequate supply of clean utensils and equipment during operations.
  • Support stock handling and storage, including receiving deliveries.
  • Always adhere to infection prevention and food safety guidelines.
  • Report any maintenance or hygiene issues promptly.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • KCSE Certificate or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Food Handling or Hygiene is an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in a busy kitchen environment is preferred.
