Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Steward to join our culinary team onboard our luxurious cruise ships. As a Kitchen Steward, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in our galleys and food preparation areas. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a vibrant international environment and develop your career in the hospitality sector.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware.
- Dispose of garbage and recycling in accordance with company and environmental regulations.
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Perform general cleaning duties in galley and storage areas.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage but not essential.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to obtain a valid seafarer's medical certificate.
