A laboratory technologist's responsibilities include performing tests, analyzing samples, operating and maintaining equipment, and documenting results to support scientific or medical investigations.
Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests and procedures on samples like bodily fluids or tissues. Operate, calibrate, maintain, and clean laboratory equipment and instruments. Prepare samples for examination and analysis. Analyze data, interpret results, and document findings accurately. Ensure accuracy and reliability through quality control and assurance protocols. Follow and enforce safety procedures and regulatory compliance. Communicate test results to physicians, researchers, or other team members. Maintain laboratory inventory and order supplies as needed. May be involved in training new staff or participating in research and development.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in laboratory testing, equipment operation and maintenance, and sample preparation. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to accurately interpret and analyze data. Organizational Skills: Excellent time management, organization, and record-keeping skills. Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, handling of hazardous materials, and regulatory requirements. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, present findings, and write technical reports.
Diploma in medical Laboratory and Pharmacy. Registration & valid license from KMLTTB and PPB respectively.
