LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (1 Post)

Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for supporting practical science lessons by preparing laboratory equipment and materials, maintaining laboratory facilities, and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical lessons.
  • Assist teachers during science practical sessions.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper storage of chemicals and apparatus.
  • Conduct routine inspections and report damaged equipment.
  • Ensure laboratory safety procedures and regulations are observed.
  • Maintain inventory records for laboratory equipment and consumables.
  • Dispose of laboratory waste in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory facilities.
  • Prepare laboratory reports and inventory records.
  • Support procurement of laboratory supplies when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology, Applied Sciences, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a school laboratory is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and procedures.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
