We are seeking a Laboratory Technologist to join our Diagnostic Services team. The successful candidate will perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, ensure accuracy and reliability of results, and support patient management by providing timely diagnostic information. This role requires attention to detail, professionalism, and adherence to high standards of laboratory practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests in hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, and other relevant areas.
  • Collect, process, and analyze patient specimens in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure accurate recording, verification, and timely release of test results.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, carry out calibrations, and report any malfunctions.
  • Monitor stock levels of reagents and consumables, and participate in inventory control.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, biosafety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethics in all laboratory activities.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
  • Registration and valid license with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant work experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of laboratory procedures.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and commitment to patient safety.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays and night shifts.
