Background

This role is for a Lead, Research position at AIC Kijabe Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Direct and implement research and development policies, objectives, and initiatives
• Establish and enforce guidelines for approval and conduct of research projects, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards
• Supervise and mentor research staff, set departmental and individual goals, and provide routine performance evaluations
• Seek external funding opportunities and contribute as principal investigator or co-investigator on funded research studies
• Ensure accurate input of treatments, payments, and patient data into hospital databases and maintain up-to-date patient charts
• Define and manage standards of medical care and service provision for the relevant clinical unit
• Promote dissemination of research findings to staff, departments, collaborators, and the broader public
• Translate research findings into clinical practice improvements within the hospital

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine or any other related field
• Master’s Degree or PHD in the field of Clinical Research or an Associated Degree in a related field from a recognized university
• A minimum of six (6) years related work experience and research experience and demonstrated peer- review publication record
• Registered with Kenya Medical Practitioners & Dentists Board
