This Lead Warehousing Administrator role acts as an informal team leader to less experienced members of the team.
Key responsibilities:
- Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfilment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
- Checks goods received and for distribution against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
- Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment and posts weights and shipping charges.
- Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift.
- Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
- Reviews customer orders, examines, stocks and distributes merchandise, products and materials in inventory warehouses, distribution centers or manufacturing lines.
- Responsible for the delivery of specific delegated tasks to a supervisor.
- Resolves non routine issues escalated from more junior team members, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
- Tasks involve a degree of forward planning and anticipation of needs/issues.
- Acts as an informal team leader to less experienced members of the team.
- Supports on any other relevant tasks or initiatives as required by senior leadership/management.
To thrive in this role, you need to have:
- Good with Excel, Word and data entry programs.
- Knowledge of various warehouse machinery and equipment.
- Display client commitment and client service orientation.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good communication and organization skills.
- Understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Had good team leader abilities.
Academic qualifications and certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree: A degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is an added advantage
- Minimum 3 years working experience in similar position
- Excellent analytical and IT skills
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A flexible approach to work and working hours
- FLT driver license is desirable.
- Relevant Warehousing certification essential.
