JOB DETAILS:
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the Learning Support Department.
- Develop and implement the school's Inclusion and Learning Support strategy.
- Supervise, mentor, and appraise Learning Support Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
- Develop departmental policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Coordinate screening, identification, assessment, and placement of learners requiring support.
- Oversee the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Assist teachers in developing differentiated lesson plans and assessments
- Ensure appropriate accommodations and curriculum modifications are implemented.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Needs Education, Inclusive Education, or a closely related education field.
- Registered teacher with the relevant professional body (Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in Kenya).
- Minimum five (5) years of successful experience in Special Needs or Inclusive Education.
- Minimum two (2) years in a leadership or coordination role within a learning support department
