Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- PhD in Applied Linguistics from a recognized University (research focused, exploring how languages interact with the real-world issues).
- Have a Minimum of 24 publication points of which 16 should be from refereed journal papers.
- Be registered with the relevant professional body where applicable.
Experience needed
- Demonstrate teaching experience at university level in Applied Linguistics or language-related courses.
- Evidence of research activity or potential (publications, conference presentations, or ongoing projects).
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse academic environment.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: second language acquisition, language assessment/testing, corpus linguistics, discourse analysis. sociolinguistics, bilingualism/multilingualism, English for Academic Purposes.
- Experience in: 1. E-learning platforms, blended learning, and innovative teaching methods including AI.
- Supervising postgraduate students and contributing to programme development.
- Language Education and Teaching of English to speakers of other languages (TESOL).
- Sociolinguistics (how language interacts with the community needs).
