Responsibilities or duties

Deliver specialized lectures on the historical development of educational systems in Kenya, Africa, and globally from pre-colonial to post-independence eras.

Analyze and teach the philosophical foundations of education, including the contributions of major educational thinkers such as Dewey, Rousseau, Freire, and Nyerere.

Guide students in examining how historical events, policies, and social movements have shaped current educational structures and practices.

Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects focusing on historical and comparative education topics.

Conduct archival and documentary research to contribute new knowledge on the history of Kenyan education.

Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences on educational history.

Develop and review course content for History of Education modules to ensure they reflect current historiographical debates.

Mentor students in critical thinking and historical analysis skills for interpreting educational phenomena.

Participate in community outreach by documenting and preserving the educational heritage of the local region.

Serve on departmental and university committees related to academic affairs and curriculum review.
