Job Purpose
Provide technical input in training and capacity development programmes, courses in wildlife conservation and management and related disciplines leading to the award of diplomas and certificates in line with WCMA 2013 section 52(g) (h) (i).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare instructional materials.
- Execute teaching and learning in class and in the field.
- Implement practical sessions to trainees.
- Set examinations.
- Administer and invigilate both oral and written examinations.
- Evaluate trainees through formative and summative assessments.
- Supervise trainee research projects and industrial attachment programs.
- Implement field training and excursion programmes.
- Prepare materials for curriculum development of training programs.
- Maintain trainee discipline.
- Maintain trainee records of class attendance, formative and summative assessments.
- Prepare and submit periodic training reports.
Academic qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Wildlife Management and Conservation, Wildlife Management, Wildlife Enterprise and Management, Environmental Sciences, Conservation Biology, Natural Resource Management, Range Management, Applied Biology, Fisheries and Aquaculture; or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies
- Certificate of Training of Trainers course from a recognized institution.
- Certificate of Registration by TVETA;
- Cumulative work experience of two years as a trainer of similar programs in a TVET Institution
- Knowledge and experience in planning and execution of field training programs for certificate and Diploma trainees; and
- Proficiency in computer applications
Only shortlisted candidates will be conducted.
Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.
Successful candidates will be required to comply with Chapter six of the Constitution.
WRTI DOES NOT charge any fees in the recruitment process.
