Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Legal & Compliance Officer to provide legal, contractual, and regulatory support across the company’s operations and projects. The ideal candidate will play a key role in protecting the company’s legal and commercial interests while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts, leases, NDAs, consultancy agreements, supplier agreements, and other legal documentation.
• Provide legal and commercial advisory support to management on corporate, contractual, employment, property, and regulatory matters.
• Identify legal and operational risks and recommend practical mitigation measures.
• Coordinate legal disputes, claims, litigation, debt recovery matters, and external legal counsel.
• Support land acquisition, property transactions, construction projects, and related legal due diligence processes.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal company requirements.
• Monitor renewal of licenses, permits, registrations, and regulatory approvals.
• Maintain proper legal records, contract registers, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the business and advise management accordingly.
• Represent the company in legal, contractual, and stakeholder engagements where necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in legal, corporate, commercial, or compliance practice.
• Experience in real estate, construction, or property development will be an added advantage.
• Advocate qualifications with a valid practicing certificate is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of corporate, commercial, contractual, and regulatory legal processes.
